Future of java
I've been thinking serously in posting this type of notes because somehow it might be taken as a non independant (microsoft related) opinion, however I consider this type of analysis very important.
Years ago I had the oportunity to work with CORBA, I must confess that this was an exciting time because it gave me a deeper knowledge about platforms integration and the complexity on using closed standards (+COM, RMI) that later had to be linked to perform part of a solution.
Now things are quite diferent with XML, and CORBA is not used as it was before, mainly because it was difficult to understand stuff related to brokers, I firmly belived that with the complexity of the solutions we have to build, the time to invest in implementing this type of higly especialized technology it's being reduced, so new platforms that deliver better and more flexible integrations solutions have a better chance to succeed in the development market.
I don't pretend to make a forecast, I just want to share with you some points of view about Java future (Warning: this represents the ideas of the author)
